20th Century Boys

THANK YOU DAMIEN for recommending this incredible awesome crazytastic manga to me. XD

Bunch of kids want to be heroes who save the world, so they make up this complicated conspiracy plot that they're meant to overcome, write it all down, and then grow up and forget about it. Thirty years later, their made-up plot is coming true around them, and they've forgotten how the hell they were meant to defeat evil.

THE PLOT IS AMAZING. Though it sort of petered out in the end, in my opinion, BUT STILL, AMAZING. Pay attention when reading this manga, you'll want to pick up all the clues.

The characters are awesome and realistic and middle-aged (haha), and you get to how they grew up and stuff. The art is really good.

READ IT OKAY because it's awesome.

Hmm yeah I'll definitely read his other stuff. I would be interested in the anime except I think I'd rather just read the manga. I mean I tend to go for anime over manga but I think I'll go with the original b/c this guy is AWESOME.

Also Sam, that is quite the rolemodel you have there. XD

I told you Steph, I told you! :D

Only saw the Monster anime, but gods that was intense. Highly, highly recommended. Pluto... not so much. Alright, merging Tezuka (who is godly) with Urasawa is a great idea, but it's not *as great* as their other stuff.

Monster is great but 20th Century Boys is out of this world. Like... can you imagine how old this book is? ...it rivals H.G Wells in the field of amazing fiction that comes WAYYYYY ahead of its time.
You're a pain in the neck when you're around but a pain in the heart when you're not.

(it was only written in 1999 y'know... it's not that old. tho' it certainly is original, innovative... so far as it revived the older style of manga... and excellent)

I dunno, I only watched the anime! I'm told the anime stuck pretty close to the manga, so take your pick I guess?
